We have published encouraging results with the elimination of the inappropriate syllable position mixing. We have also tried to tweak continuous positional parameters computation to mimic the results obtained.

We experimented with including last/non-last syllable units position in 'target cost' computation in unit selection method since a 'last syllable lengthening' is a well-documented phonetic phenomenon.
The results showed that the penalizing of the last/non-last syllable position mismatch between the unit candidate and the target improved the overall quality of speech synthesis.
